South Dakota Coyotes Football: Halfway Through Camp

Coyotes Progressing in Preparation for 2024 Season

Team Focused on Development and Improvement

The University of South Dakota football team has reached the halfway point of their 2024 training camp.

The Coyotes are coming off a successful 2023 campaign and are aiming to build on that success in 2024.

Head Coach Bob Nielson is pleased with the progress his team has made so far in camp.

“We've had a really good two weeks of camp,” Nielson said.

“The guys are working hard and they're starting to come together as a team.”

The Coyotes have been focusing on development and improvement during camp.

“We're really trying to focus on the little things,” Nielson said.

“We want to make sure we're fundamentally sound and that we're making the right decisions on and off the field.”

Strong Leadership from Aidan Bouman

Quarterback Aidan Bouman has emerged as a leader for the Coyotes this camp.

“Aidan has done a great job of leading this team,” Nielson said.

“He's a smart player and he makes good decisions.”

Bouman has been impressive in camp, throwing two touchdown passes in the Coyotes' first scrimmage.

Charles Pierre, another key player for the Coyotes, has put up great numbers in camp.

Pierre, a running back, rushed for 123 yards and scored a touchdown in the team’s first scrimmage.

Camp Continues for Two More Weeks

The Coyotes will continue their training camp for two more weeks before opening the season on September 2nd against the University of Northern Iowa.

“We're excited about the season,” Nielson said.

“We think we have a good team and we're ready to compete.”

The Coyotes are expected to be a contender in the Missouri Valley Football Conference in 2024.
